Drinking water networks

Keeping water as a clean and natural resource for consumption is one of the main challenges of the 21st century. The transportation of drinking water through the network is essential, because of the high demands and expectations that are associated with this water: no loss of precious water, supply security, sufficient pressure, sustainable (re)use, to name but a few expectations that everyone considers 'normal'.

However, they are not so evident at all: even in modern Europe, a number of Member States are faced with drinking water losses ranging from 60 to 80%, non-guaranteed quality and interrupted supply, completely outdated networks, etc.
